Financing Your Education

Congratulations on your determination and dedication to pursue higher education. There are many ways to finance your education. Always complete the CA Dream Act application, apply for local and national scholarships, get a part-time job if possible, raise funds, and seek donations. Below are websites that have been known to provide scholarships and financial aid that do not ask for immigration status. Never auto-disqualify yourself… always apply, apply, and apply. State Financial Aid

California Dream Act Application
Completion of the this state financial aid application is required to determine financial aid eligibility for various California funded grants and programs such as Cal Grant, Chafee Grant, Middle Class Scholarship, UC Grants, State University Grant, California Community College BOG Fee Waiver, EOPS/EOPS, and some University scholarships.

Scholarships

AHC Foundation Scholarship
Award more than a half a million dollars in scholarships every year ranging from $500 to $10,000

Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara
Award for full time college students that have attended high school and graduated or received a GED from Santa Barbara County high school.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund
Award students of Hispanic heritage based on merit with amounts ranging from $500 to $5,000.

This is a free, informative resource guide for students, parents, and educators with an extensive list of scholarships, including many that do not inquire about immigration status. Excellent scholarship resource guide for AB 540 students. The guide is published every year.

Allan Hancock Financial Aid Scholarship List
The financial aid office at Hancock College manages and updates a list of available local, regional, and national scholarships. Not all of the listed scholarships are eligible for AB 540 students but some are. Take the time to sort through and identify ones that you may be eligible for.
