C6-LSAMP Events

C6 Co-PI's Dom Dal Bello and Jens Kuhn attended the 2024 American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Annual Conference, The Future of Engineering Education in June 23-26 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland and presented the project's outcomes through a poster presentation.

Allan Hancock College hosted a 2nd C6 Alliance Gathering in April 2024. C6 Alliance members reviewed course data from all colleges that have C6 embedded tutoring, shared ideas on the continued implementation of the NSF/LSAMP grant, and received an inspired presentation from the Dean of the Science and Mathematics Division at Oxnard College.

Following last year's success, the C6-LSAMP Alliance is once again partnering with Cal Poly College of Engineering and College of Liberal Arts, and Orfalea College of Business to present a Research Symposium on Friday, Oct. 13, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Cal Poly SLO.

Allan Hancock College hosted a C6 Alliance Gathering in August 2023. It was an overnight trip which invited representatives from each of the C6-LSAMP affiliated colleges to come share how their colleges have endeavored to increase student opportunities through the NSF/LSAMP grant.

On June 9th, students from Allan Hancock College, Cuesta College, and Santa Barbara City College were given a guided tour of PBS Biotech's BioLab Department and Engineering Department by Lead Development Engineers.

SAN LUIS OBISPO -- Students and faculty from across the Central Coast presented nearly 75 summer research projects at the Summer Undergraduate Research Plus (SURP +) Symposium hosted by Cal Poly San Luis Obispo on Oct. 14.

More than 400 people attended the 2022 Duck Race Festival. The 2020 and 2021 festivals were canceled due to the COVID pandemic. The festival featured two types of duck races at a beautiful riverside venue, craft displays from local vendors and citizens, as well as delicious barbecue meals & drinks.
