Welcome to Fee-based Program!


Fee-based courses are open to the community and designed for learners at all experience levels. Explore new interests, build practical skills, and develop confidence through hands-on learning. Learn from experienced instructors in a supportive environment. All courses are self-supporting and do not receive any taxpayer funding.

Set up your password:

Go to the myHancock portal and click "New Hancock College Users" to create a password. Save your ID, username, and password.

After registering, a Hancock email will be created (e.g., allan.hancock@my.hancockcollege.edu). Check it regularly for notifications.

Search for courses:

Class Search

  • Select the term and click CONTINUE.
  • Use the dropdowns, then click SEARCH.
  • Save the Course Registration Number (CRN) for Step 3.

Log in to myHancock to verify your registration date.

The California College Promise Grant (CCPG) does not cover fee-based courses.

You may also pay in person at Community Education, 800 S. College Dr., Santa Maria, CA, Building S.

  • Drop a class at least one day before the start date to receive a full refund
  • No refunds are issued once a class has begun
  • If a class is canceled, a full refund will be issued

Refund requests must be submitted through Community Education.

Students are responsible for checking their email for any course updates, cancellations, or information shared about registered courses.

Moguel Art & Sewing: Art for Entrepreneurs

Explore mixed-media art while learning how to turn your creativity into a small business.

Students will:

  • Create decorative flowers using pipe cleaners
  • Paint acrylic backgrounds on canvas
  • Add sewing and embroidery details
  • Learn how to open and market an Etsy shop

Become a CA Notary Public

Get certified and ready to pass the state exam to become a Notary Public.

Students will learn:

  • Notary laws and responsibilities
  • Fraud detection
  • Steps to start a notary career or business

Loan Signing Specialist

Learn how to expand your notary skills into the real estate industry.

Students will learn:

Participate in aerobic and weight training in a supervised lab setting. Prior experience recommended.

Improve cardiovascular fitness and muscle tone through lap swimming.

CSFT 8018 – Yoga Fitness with Pilates 

This class combines yoga with Pilates techniques for a very effective workout. Challenge yourself to a new level of fitness and flexibility.

Improve overall health, physical performance, and mental sharpness in this yoga class with basic stretching and strengthening exercises.

This class introduces students to popular Latin salsa dancing. Students learn rhythm patterns, step variations, and partner movements.

Full-body barre work is a technique inspired by elements of ballet, yoga, and Pilates. It emphasizes strength, flexibility, and endurance.

CSFT 8035 – Beginning Bachata Latin Dance 

Bachata style is danced with soft hip motions, turns, and side-to-side footwork. The exercises are safe and fun for all levels.

Mediterranean Savory Pastry

Hands-on cooking workshop focused on traditional savory pastries.

Students will learn:

  • How to make soft dough from scratch
  • Shaping and filling techniques
  • Preparing savory fillings (cheese, meat, more)
