Looking Forward to the Fall Semester and three great exhibits in the Gallery

three offset images of portions of set design and props and costume designsThe Art of the PCPA, August 19 - September 26

A look behind the scenes at the artists creating
the worlds we see on stage.

PCPA remains the only resident professional company on the Central Coast and the only training program of its kind offered at a community college — producing exemplary artistic experiences for the community while preparing thousands of actors and theatre technicians for a career in theatre. You can enjoy a production at PCPA today, with the deeper enjoyment that you’re glimpsing the seeds of a richer tomorrow.

You will see in this exhibit, examples of set designs, original props and costumes used in the performances on stage, and concept art to delve into the creative processes of many of these artists' work. There is an energy to the concept stages, sketches, models, and explorations these artists journey through to get to the final stage leading to the final creative piece. Whether it is a full stage design, final costuming, or a prop, Many artists have a hand in the final production of a play.

Whether you're a seasoned theater enthusiast or a curious newcomer, may this exhibit inspire a deeper appreciation for the countless artists working behind the scenes and the transformative power of visual storytelling on the stage.
