The Library is lending laptops to students throughout the semester. Pickup from the Santa Maria Library or Lompoc Valley Center Library. Laptops become available a week before the semester starts and should be returned the last week of school 

Requesting a loaner laptop 
Students can go to library on both campuses and request a laptop without a request form. Laptops are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Student must be able to provide a Student ID and proof of enrollment.

*If a student belongs to EOPS, TRIO or NEXTUP, students are encouraged to check for laptop availability within one of the program (if applicable).

Need to access WIFI for class? The Library is lending WIFI Hotspots to students throughout the semester. Pickup from the Santa Maria Library or Lompoc Valley Center Library. Hotspots become available a week before school starts and must be returned the last week of school.

What is a WIFI hotspot?

Hotspots are mobile devices that let you connect to wireless internet wherever you are!

Wi-Fi is available in every building on the Santa Maria, Lompoc, and Santa Ynez campuses. In addition, we have outdoor Wi-Fi available in a few areas on the Santa Maria campus. You can connect on the patio between the library and the Student Center, in the parking lot outside of the gym (bldg. N), in front of bldg. S, and in the parking lot near Humanities (bldg. C).

Federal Lifeline Assistance:

Assurance Wireless is a federal program known as the Lifeline Assistance program which helps qualifying low-income households by providing them with FREE wireless service.

Qualifications:

Enrollment is available to individuals who qualify based on federal or state-specific eligibility criteria. You may qualify if you are on certain public assistance programs, like Medicaid or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). 

You can also qualify based on your household income. If you are unemployed, you can use your Unemployment Benefit Letter as proof of eligibility.

Proof of Eligibility:

You must provide proof of program participation or proof of income.

One Account per Household:

The Lifeline Assistance program is available for only one wireless or wireline account per household. Separate households that live at the same address are eligible, including residents of homeless shelters and nursing homes. Residents with temporary addresses are also eligible.

They also have computers you can use, as well as chromebooks that you can borrow!

How do I get a library card?

Apply online at Blackgold.org to get an electronic library card to begin placing holds, using e-books and other electronic content immediately. Visit the Black Gold website to review options or call the library at (805)925-0994 extension 8563 for more information.

How do I get a library card?

Lompoc Public Library Cards are available to California residents, or to anyone with a valid government issued photo ID and a California mailing address.

Patrons may apply in person or online.
