How to Get Started
Step 1: Prepare
Meet with the Allan Hancock College University Transfer Center, a nursing counselor, or a CSUCI program representative to learn more about the pathway and confirm your next steps.
You can also connect with Omairah Azizi or attend an information session to learn more about the program, application process, and available support.
Step 2: Apply
Submit your application through Cal State Apply during the appropriate application period.
Students may apply during one of three admission cycles:
- Spring Admission: Apply August 1 – December 1
- Summer Admission: Apply December 1 – March 31
- Fall Admission: Apply April 1 – July 1
Step 3: Submit Supporting Documents
Submit all required supporting documents, including official transcripts from all schools attended, one letter of recommendation, and a current resume.
Step 4: Submit Your Intent to Enroll
After admission, submit your Intent to Enroll by the required deadline to confirm your spot in the program and move forward.
Program Structure
Course Format
Your BSN coursework is offered through CSU Channel Islands Extended University and is designed for Allan Hancock College nursing students and alumni continuing from ADN/RN preparation into BSN-level study.
Modality
Courses are primarily online and asynchronous, giving you the flexibility to access materials, lectures, and assignments on your schedule while meeting structured deadlines. You will complete one clinical course at a hospital, providing hands-on training in a healthcare setting located near where you live.
Schedule
You may complete your BSN in as little as one summer session and two full semesters, or within approximately 12–24 months depending on your academic plan and pace.
Learning Experience
You will build on your nursing foundation through coursework focused on evidence-based practice, health assessment, professional transition, leadership, healthcare systems, policy, quality improvement, and patient safety.
