Our Community Host Organizations:

Allan Hancock College - Basic Needs
AHC Basic Needs Center

Fellows assist students with food, housing, health, technology, childcare, and other necessities. They greet students, manage the food pantry, aid in CalFresh applications, and maintain inventory.

Bici Centro
Bici Centro

Fellows assist in community bike shop operations. Fellows repair and maintain bicycles, help customers, and volunteer with programs that bring bicycle and pedestrian safety skills to the community in local schools.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Centeral Coast
Boys & Girls Club

Fellows implement, and supervise academic and recreational programs for youth. This includes one-on-one tutoring, overseeing sports, and providing general support.

Cal State Parks Oceano Dunes District

Fellows will support outdoor education initiatives through guided nature walks and contribute to the Pismo State Beach Foredune Restoration and Improvement Project. Responsibilities include seed collection, greenhouse maintenance, and native plant installation.

Catholic Charities Lompoc Food Pantry

Fellows will support food distribution operations through a variety of essential tasks, including sorting, loading, and unloading food donations; stocking shelves, refrigerators, and freezers; assisting with case management, filing, referrals, and data entry; and conducting client outreach, maintaining phone logs, and answering incoming calls.

Central Coast Commission for Senior Citizens, Senior Nutrition Program
Central Coast Commission for Senior Centers

Fellows volunteer assisting with the Senior Nutrition program. Duties include receiving, preparing, and serving meals to seniors, as well as post-meal cleanup.

Rescue Mission Alliance Central Coast
Central Coast Rescue Mission Alliance

Fellows at Rescue Mission Alliance assist homeless and recovering addicts. Duties include picking up donations, leading group discussions, and teaching life recovery skills.

City of Santa Maria Recreation & Parks Department
City of Santa Maria- Recreation and Parks

City of Santa Maria Fellows mentor teens at the Abel Maldonado Community Youth Center, assisting with homework, study skills, and providing educational resources.

Ernest Righetti High School
Ernest Righetti High School

At Righetti High School, Fellows tutor 9-12th graders in core subjects like English, Science, Social Studies, and Math, aiding with classwork, homework, test prep, and college applications, both in classrooms and one-on-one.

Food Bank Santa Barbara County
Foodbank of Santa Barbara County

Fellows at the Food Bank of Santa Barbara County fight hunger by assisting with volunteer operations, events, food distribution, and outreach programs.

Future for Lompoc
Future for Lompoc Youth

Fellows lead Lompoc High School youth in leadership and college prep, facilitate weekly meetings, and accompany students on college trips and extracurricular activities.

Future Leaders of America
Future Leaders of America

Future Leaders of America Fellows support site-based programs. They create promotional materials and facilitate FLAMA, a program developing leadership skills in 13-17-year-olds.

Good Samaritan
Good Samaritan Shelter

Fellows serve as Food Coordinators or Farm Assistants. Coordinators plan, prepare, and serve meals, maintaining clean kitchen areas. Assistants support farm operations, including planting, harvesting, and general maintenance.

Guadalupe Junior High School

Fellows will enhance student academic support by organizing tutoring groups before and after school, serving as instructional assistants to classroom teachers, establishing a drop-in tutoring center during lunch periods, and collaborating with school staff to address student academic needs.

Dunes Center
Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Center

Fellows at the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Center promote the ecosystem through education and research. They guide museum guests, teach STEM programs, and educate on native and invasive plants.

Kermit McKenzie Intermediate School

Fellows will provide individualized academic support to help students master new concepts, complete current assignments, and achieve above-average performance on STAR assessments. Through one-on-one and small group instruction, Fellows will tailor lessons to meet each student's unique needs and goals.

Lompoc Teen Center
Lompoc Teen Center

Fellows assist staff in providing programs and services for at-risk teens (7-12th grade) to achieve academic success and college readiness. Fellows help with program management, excursions, events, and 1-on-1 tutoring.

Mary Buren Elementary
Mary Buren Elementary

Fellows assist TK-4th grade students at Mary Buren Elementary. They support classroom learning, one-on-one and group activities, and outdoor play.

NatureTrack Foundation

Fellows will inspire students and community members to forge meaningful connections with nature through outdoor education experiences in beautiful natural areas throughout the county. Fellows will also have the opportunity to pursue additional areas of interest aligned with their passions and goals.

Nipomo Native Gardens
Nipomo Native Gardens

Fellows at Nipomo Native Gardens support community garden projects, including plant care, native plant restoration, educational outreach, and data collection on plant health and ecological impact.

Pacific Pride
Pacific Pride Foundation

Fellows at Pacific Pride Foundation serve unhoused individuals, building essential kits, participating in street medicine outreach, and addressing health disparities within the LGBTQ+ community.

Peoples self help housing
People's Self-Help Housing

Fellows at People's Self Help Housing support K-8th grade youth in Orcutt, Guadalupe, and Santa Maria through academic, STEAM, outdoor, and socio-emotional enrichment programs.

Pioneer Valley High School
Pioneer Valley High School

Fellows at Pioneer Valley High School tutor 9-12th graders in core subjects, assist with homework, test prep, and college applications, both in classrooms and one-on-one.

Santa Maria High School
Santa Maria High School

Fellows at Santa Maria High assist 9-12 graders with academics (ELA, Science, Social Studies, Math), homework, test prep, and college applications. Bilingual Fellows may also support English Language Learners.

SeeAg
SEEAG

At Students for Eco-Education & Agriculture (SEEAG), Fellows educate 3rd-grade students in Northern SB County about agriculture, food supply chains, and farm sciences through STEM-based lessons and activities.
