Community Host Organizations

Our Community Host Organizations:

AHC Basic Needs Center

Fellows assist students with food, housing, health, technology, childcare, and other necessities. They greet students, manage the food pantry, aid in CalFresh applications, and maintain inventory.

Bici Centro

Fellows assist in community bike shop operations. Fellows repair and maintain bicycles, help customers, and volunteer with programs that bring bicycle and pedestrian safety skills to the community in local schools.

Boys & Girls Club

Fellows implement and supervise academic and recreational programs for youth. This includes one-on-one tutoring, overseeing sports, and providing general support.

Cal State Parks Oceano Dunes District

Fellows support outdoor education initiatives through guided nature walks and contribute to the Pismo State Beach Foredune Restoration and Improvement Project. Responsibilities include seed collection, greenhouse maintenance, and native plant installation.

Catholic Charities Lompoc Food Pantry

Fellows support food distribution operations, including sorting, loading and unloading donations, stocking shelves, assisting with case management and data entry, and conducting client outreach.

Central Coast Commission for Senior Centers

Fellows assist with the Senior Nutrition program, including meal preparation, service, and cleanup.

Central Coast Rescue Mission Alliance

Fellows assist homeless and recovering individuals through donation pickup, group discussions, and life recovery skills training.

City of Santa Maria Recreation & Parks

Fellows mentor teens at the Abel Maldonado Community Youth Center, assisting with homework, study skills, and educational resources.

Clarence Ruth Elementary School

Fellows work directly with elementary students in small groups or one-on-one to build confidence and academic success.

Ernest Righetti High School

Fellows tutor grades 9–12 in core subjects, assisting with coursework, test prep, and college applications.

Foodbank of Santa Barbara County

Fellows assist with volunteer operations, food distribution, events, and outreach programs.

Future for Lompoc Youth

Fellows lead youth in leadership and college prep, facilitate meetings, and coordinate trips and activities.

Future Leaders of America

Fellows support programs, create promotional materials, and facilitate leadership development initiatives.

Good Samaritan Shelter

Fellows serve as Food Coordinators or Farm Assistants, supporting meal preparation or farm operations.

Guadalupe Junior High School

Fellows organize tutoring, assist teachers, and provide academic support through structured and drop-in programs.

Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Center

Fellows educate visitors on ecosystems through museum engagement and STEM-based programming.

Kermit McKenzie Intermediate School

Fellows provide small group and one-on-one support, helping students meet academic goals and improve performance.

Leonora Fillmore Elementary

Fellows support student services, family engagement, and programs serving English learners and high-need populations.

Lompoc Teen Center

Fellows assist with programming, tutoring, events, and mentoring for at-risk teens.
